Darmstadt

Darmstadt is the 4th biggest city in Hessen and is neighbour to Frankfurt am Main and Offenbach. Even though Darmstadt is a very business orientated city, it is still a lovely city with a lot of culture or many possibilities of recreational activities.
There are many theatres and the most important one is the renovated Staatstheater with the grand hall, the small hall and the chamber plays. Darmstadt is a must visit for those who like art nouveau. The most important museum about art nouveau is the museum “Künstlerkolonie“ in the Ernst-Ludwig-Haus at Mathildenhöhe. The history of the Darmstadt art community from 1899 to 1914 is well documented there. The district Darmstadt-Eberstadt is the most southern district.

Eberstadt

The most southward district of Darmstadt is Eberstadt. This is where you will find respected international companies: the Japanese company KAO Germany GmbH – since 1989 parent company of the Goldwell GmbH – operates since the mid-90s a research and development centre in Darmstadt-Eberstadt. The Software AG and Computer Associates is headquartered here.
